2022 Rochester Game Festival: Meet the Exhibitors

More than 25 exhibitors from across New York State will be on hand to showcase their new and upcoming projects at the 2022 Rochester Game Festival!

Stoutheart: Broken Spirits is a deceptively light-hearted, roguelike 3D character action game built upon the concept of dynamic enemy possession fused with Souls-inspired combat. Big Boss is an asymmetric fighting game where parties of heroes are defeated by you, the player, as you fight your way to become THE Final Boss. As a Boss, you are able to customize your lair, moveset, technique, and strategy after each group of heroes are defeated. Big Boss merges a new way of fighting with RPG and roguelike elements, as every hero that attempts to defeat you is randomly generated with different movesets and abilities. A Perfect Year is an educational entertainment Sci-Fi RPG where players explore Water Memory Worlds and meld minds online to perfect humanity.

Cannon Custodian is a retro-styled arcade game of skill and hi-scores. You’re Ted, Area 51’s newest resident janitor that just so happens to get stuck in an interdenominational jail, mistaken for an era 1981 arcade machine. With an enormous cannon car, blast your way through waves of escaped convicts and their kingpins, all the while defending your energy pods.

Peacock Block is a fast-paced “Take That!” card game for 3-5 players, with two game modes and three ways to win. Players take on the roll of peacocks at a rager of a party, all trying to attract the love of the bodacious peahens by flirting, growing tailfeathers, or presenting The Ring. However, it won’t be that easy.

Alchemazam! is a collectable card game that can be played over multiple game formats. In this first chapter of the game, players don the role of wizards and alchemists all competing in The Grand Arcanum, a tournament of champions where the victor gains a seat of the High Council. With multiple ways to defeat an opponent, players will cast spells and summon creatures, all the while managing their resources to keep their strategies strong.

Santa’s Toy Box is a “point salad” set collection game for 2-6 players. Players draft cards that are Toys and Coal for points, as well as special event cards that can effect a player’s board state.

W.A.V.E.S. is a randomly-generated competitive game where players control a team of divers in waters that are turbulent with seismic activity. The most rarest jewels are abundant, but so is the danger!

In Cold Quest: The Arctic Ice Floe-Maneuvering Game, players compete to be the first to cross the board by maneuvering ice floes (actually repurposed dominoes), avoiding or confronting the polar bear, and picking up tools such as Snowshoes and Kayaks while taking the risk of picking up Thin Ice instead.

UpRooted is a narrative-driven action-adventure game following Anaiah and Finn as they work together to hack the virus corrupting the forest. Leaders of the Horde is a collaborative action game. You and 3-5 other players are Orc Generals intent on leading the horde to greatness whilst attempting to secure your own legacy. One player will take the role of Warchief and lead the horde on raids against their enemies, during the raid you kill and loot for more conquest points then head back to your camp to to sell and buy new items. However, if at any point you felt as if the Warchief was was no longer fit for leadership, you can always challenge them during a raid in an attempt to claim their amulet for yourself. After a few rounds of raiding, the Orc with the most conquest points will be crowned the winner and have secured their bloodline’s legacy.
